Abstract :
In the RF domain, the frequency response of a radio over fiber (RoF) system using a multi-longitudinal laser and dispersive fiber exhibits band-pass microwave transmission windows. The center frequencies of the microwave bands depend on the optical spectrum and on the length of the optical channel. The frequency response can be modified by filtering the optical spectrum for eliminating multi-longitudinal modes. In this paper we show the reconfiguration of the frequency response of a dispersive RoF link by filtering the optical spectrum. The modified frequency response is used for multiplexing data-modulated subcarriers, showing that dispersive RoF links can be used as multichannel transmission systems.
