Abstract :
A uni-planar backward directional couplers is analyzed and designed. Microstrip parallel coupled lines and asymmetrical delay lines make multi-sectioned coupler which enhances the directivity. In this paper, 20 dB multi-sectioned couplers with single and double delay lines are designed and measured to show the validation of analysis. The coupler with two delay lines has the directivity over 30 dB and the fractional bandwidth of 30% at the center frequency of 1.8 GHz.
