Abstract
With improvements in communication, computer and embedded technology, ad hoc networks are becoming more popular for an ever increasing range of applications. Since 2002 there has been increased popularity of commercial applications based on ultra wideband. This has ignited interest in the use of this technology for ad hoc networks and research in the area. UWB technology has excellent characteristics such as wider band, higher speed rate, lower power spectrum density and stronger anti-jamming. The routing protocol based on UWB is designed and presented in order to increase the performance of wireless ad hoc network. It utilizes orientation of UWB and tries to get enough route information and guarantee reliable dissemination to all nodes in the network. Simulation results show that proposed protocol outperforms DSR and SPIN protocols.
