Abstract :
This paper shows that a PZT acoustic emission sensor is suitable, as one of the novel nonintrusive methods, for mass flow measurement of moved bed gravity flow in a stand pipe of the new high calorie gasifier or DRI process. This sensing signal is suitable for the process at 2~:48 cm/s. The accuracy is below ±1.6% FS for 40.0/48.5 φ pipe without band-pass filter. The band-pass filter is suitable for 75 kHz in 20.1/27.3 φ and 40.0/48.5 of steel stand pipe with 1.8 φ 1.5 kg/l silica pellets. It is able to delete inverse response of moved bed gravity flow. The frequency of red bean was 36 kHz in 20.1/27.3 φ pipe
