Abstract
The transmission properties of narrow slots in conducting screens are investigated. Via Babinet´s principle, a conducting strip can be analyzed as an equivalent problem. It is shown that the equivalent electric current density can be expressed as a product of two different distributions. Each of these distributions is a solution of a one-dimensional problem. New approximate formulae extending previous work are given. Results are compared to full wave calculations with a method of moments (MoM) code. Variations in slot dimensions can be considered without performing new discretizations and time consuming numerical calculations
