  • Abstract
NEMO basic support protocol (Devarapalli et al., 2005) enables mobile networks preserve communication with other nodes, while changing their point of attachment to the Internet. But in nested mobile network, Pinball routing problem appears. In this paper, a route optimization solution for mobile networks based on extended prefix information option in RA message is proposed to solve the suboptimal routing, packet overhead and latency problems. By extending router advertisement message and modifying movement detection, the solution makes a difference between handover inside nested NEMO and outside nested NEMO. By using root MR´s CoA as its own CoA, tunnel length is shortened and encapsulated level is reduced. Registration in nested NEMO makes handover latency as short as possible. And security and location privacy are considered in this solution too. So the solution can improve performance greatly for nested mobile networks, when a mobile network moves frequently and performs handover within nested mobile networks.
