Abstract
The degradation of sensitivity was mainly caused by intersymbol interference in the optical filter (which was not the optimal matched filter) and the EDFA´s noise figure (which was 4.1 dB instead of ideal value of 3dB). Higher sensitivity will be obtained by reducing these degradation factors
