Abstract :
Although the conventional way, which means shrinking the cover of each cell and increasing the density of base stations for sharing radio resources among more cells, can be adopted to relieve the urgent requirements for more capacity and adapt to the vulnerable propagation character of higher spectrum, frequent handoffs from cell to cell are becoming a great burden for wireless cellular system. This paper addresses an adaptive handoff-relieving scheduling algorithm for downlink transmission in a time-slotted shared wireless network that considering both the on-line channel condition and velocity information together. And simulation results indicate that this scheduling scheme can absolutely relieve the handoff overhead and create a good experience for the subscribers.
