  • Abstract
    In order to improve the quality of data transmission in VHF communication system, a novel RS+Convolutional concatenated code scheme is presented in this paper. Also the performance of RS+Convolutional concatenated code in AWGN channel is analyzed. The simulation result shows that RS+Convolutional concatenated code can decrease the BER (Bit Error Rate) of systems to an order of 10-5 under the condition of low SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), which can meet the requirement of VHF communication. In conclusion, RS+Convolutional concatenated error correcting code is very efficient and useful in practice.
