Abstract :
SCTP is a general-purpose transport protocol for IP network data communication. It was published as RFC2960 by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) in October 2000. The SCTP multi-homing can support multi-path in association. However, the SCTP path failure detection is very simple in RFC2960, and can´t effectively distinguish path condition (e.g. active or inactive) in wireless network. In this paper, we present a new and effective path failure detection method in wireless network. According to experiment results, the proposed method can effectively distinguish path condition and increase performance.
