Abstract
The objective of this paper is to draw attention to the issues which must be addressed when attempting to improve the safety of live work by employing an arc flash reduction system for low-voltage power equipment. These issues include where the system needs to be located, locking and feedback capability, arc flash labeling needs and code compliance. It is not the author´s intent to dissuade anyone from specifying, purchasing or using an arc flash reduction system.
