Abstract :
This paper reviews and describes a simplified model of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based on the IEC 61400-27 devoted to ”Electrical simulation models for wind power generation”. This Standard is focused on defining generic simulation models for both wind turbines (Part 1) and wind farms (Part 2). A brief summary regarding the current status of requirements and models is discussed in the paper. Additionally, parting from real field-test measurements of an operational wind turbine, parameters from Type 3 generic model IEC 61400-27 are fitted to the machine. The selected wind generator is located in a Spanish wind farm, in one of the regions with higher installed wind capacity. Electrical variables used to fit the model are shown and discussed based on previous works as well.
