Abstract :
This paper brings forward a kind of IPv6 router based on ForCES [1] which is configurable, extensible, flexible and easy to deploy new services. Emphasis is put on the modeling of IPv6 forwarding related LFBs (Logic Function Blocks). An implementation of ForCESbased IPv6 router is illustrated, strictly conforming to ForCES protocol [2], it takes network processor as forwarding platform and general processor as control platform, the technology of virtual device is adopted to reuse the existing routing protocols and legacy control plane applications. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the experimental platform.
