Abstract
Metal plate effect in HF RFID systems is investigated. HFSS9.0 is used to simulate and analyze characters of magnetic field near metal plate in middle range RFID system. As two solutions of metal plate effect, tags with ferrite absorber and dimensional tags are discussed base on simulation results. A prototype of omnidirectional tag is proposed. Simulation results can be used as a guidance and reference for new tag design.
