Abstract :
This paper presents a compact power efficient, fully differential transformer coupled CMOS amplifier with 4.2GHz 3-dB bandwidth ranging from 82.5 to 86.7GHz, with a peak gain of 10.5dB at 84.1GHz drawing 37mW from a supply of Vdd=1.4V and achieving Psat of 8.5dBm. The amplifier was implemented in 90 nm mixed signal/radio frequency (RF) CMOS process using a three-stage transformer coupled differential RF NMOS configuration and consumes an area of 0.18mm2 including bond pads.
