  • Abstract
Relay has been considered by the wireless cellular network as a promising solution to increase system throughput and enlarge the cell coverage. In this paper, we investigate resource configuration in OFDMA-based cellular relay networks from two aspects. One focuses on the resource allocation between macrocell and relay cells, which ensures the serving fairness among users across the whole network. The other aims to balance the achieving capacity between backhaul link and access link, utilizing the resources in the most cost efficient way. Through applying these principles to orthogonal and co-channel sharing scenarios, analysis and performance evaluation are given to illustrate our proposed scheme. Furthermore, the co-channel sharing scenario is more recommended to be deployed in the practical communication system because the higher system spectrum efficiency can be realized.
