Abstract
Recent advances in wireless sensor networks have led to many new protocols specifically designed for sensor networks where energy awareness is an essential consideration. Most of the attention, however, has been given to the routing protocols. The paper presents a new clustering scheme named WCMC based on improved Monte-Carlo Localization algorithm MCBR. We also exploit Multi-hop scheme between clusters to increase the energy efficiency of the protocol. The results show that our approach distributes the energy dissipation more evenly than other clustering schemes, reduces overall energy consumption and improves network lifetime.
