  • Abstract
A variety of different modeling techniques and different vendor´s modeling tools were applied to a heat sink grounding problem. The primary goal was to provide a standard modeling problem, and some example results, demonstrating how this problem could be solved. It is hoped that others will use this same problem (when appropriate) to evaluate possible vendor software, and be able to compare the results from the software-in-question to the results here, to gain confidence in the results of the tool under investigation. Three separate FDTD tools were used: EZ-EMC, Ocotillo FDTD and a FDTD code from the University of Missouri at Rolla. Two method of moment codes were used, EMSIM and Comoran. One FEM code was used but was found to be unsuitable
