Abstract :
The demand for electricity in Israel is rising at a steady rate and the supply reserve is low. The major sources for electricity production is fossil fuel resulting in the release of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases to the environment. Nuclear energy eliminates the emission to the environment, consumes less land reserve than other clean energies and provides many other benefits. Although there are currently no nuclear power plants in Israel, the knowledge, experience and infrastructures do exists. In this paper an assessment for Israel readiness for nuclear power plants is presented.
