Abstract :
Supervision of highly automated processes is a privileged area of research with a crossover of many disciplines. In fact, knowledge in the fields of automation, “work post” ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, working psychology and sociology seem necessary because supervision is an activity in which the human is still present, despite increasing automation. Our research concerns monitoring tasks and diagnosis tasks in continuous processes. In this paper we proposed specifications for an advanced human centered supervisory system (AHCSS) integrating representation characteristics of the production system, such as functional, structural and behavioral aspects, with the use of advanced algorithms of detection and location. These are human centered and take into account new concepts of design. These specifications were used to design an AHCSS for a nuclear fuel reprocessing system that was evaluated through experiments with experienced operators. The obtained results are encouraging
