Abstract :
A novel light source is proposed and applied in a 60GHz millimeter wave Radio-over-Fiber(ROF) system. The Fabry-Perot semiconductor laser diode diode (F-P SLD) which shows a multimode output can be converted to a single-mode laser source by employing a F-P SLD locked to the externally injected narrow-band amplified spontaneous emission(ASE). We successfully apply this source in the BS (base station) of 60GHz millimeter wave ROF system.
