Abstract :
The band structure for a one-dimensional periodic structure with partially negative permittivity uniaxial materials is studied. It is shown that the photon tunnelling propagation modes can exist in the present structure. Since the material with partially negative permittivity tensor can be fabricated with low loss, potential applications in optical devices are expected to be drawn from our result.
