Abstract
Due to the high sensor failure probability in WSN, there will be some "holes" in the sensor network which block the routing. The void problem hasn\´t been handled well in current real-time routing protocols. In this paper, we present a novel fault-tolerant real-time routing protocol FT-SPEED. In FT- SPEED, void announces scheme is proposed to prevent the packets reaching the void through other routing path. To route the packets around two sides of the void to guarantee the packets be delivered rather than just being dropped, we introduce the void bypass scheme in FT-SPEED. Simulation results show that, compared with SPEED and MMSPEED, FT-SPEED could handle the void problem much more effectively.
