Abstract :
Two microprocessor systems are used for data management. Both systems are used to collect and store respiratory data measured with the electronic ventilator, CO/sub 2/ analyzer, and lung mechanics calculator. A desktop computer is used as the central information system and forms the heart of the data management system. A second microprocessor system, the respiratory processor, is used to analyze analog signals from the respirator. The program for the respiratory processor is written in machine code and BASIC. The data can be displayed in a tabular way or as a function of time.<>
