  • Abstract
Panoramic mosaic has gained prominence as a two-dimensional form of seven-dimensional plenoptic function widely used for synthetic wide-angle camera. This paper proposes to take a great leap forward to improve this popular conception. Starting with either an odd or even number of images, the paper focuses on the generation of panoramic view of a scene with a significant structural difference when compared with the conventional panorama. The proposed panorama is characterized with depth cue whereby objects in the distance appear smaller than objects close by and it is realized using image convergence technique. This technique is based on the continuous division method used for the conversion of a number from one number system to another. Also the algorithm which implements this technique is characterized by accurate and reliable results, and fast implementation time.
