Abstract :
Block implementation of digital filters increases the throughput rate of the system, enabling real-time digital signal filtering for very high sampling frequency applications. However, the hardware complexity added by this sort of implementation often results in a non feasible solution. In this paper two new multirate structures are proposed as an alternative to block implementation of narrow-band Linear Time Invariant (LTI) digital filters. These structures, based on the theory of IFIR filters, have lower hardware complexity than the equivalent block structure
