Abstract
A mainframe and PC-linked system for equipment management has been augmented with a bar code reader and laser printer to improve service documentation. The bar coding methods were coupled with changes in service coding procedures to include use of predetermined service codes. The hardware and procedural changes resulted in data collection that was faster, more accurate, and of greater management value.<>
