Abstract :
In this paper, a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) scheme for open-end winding induction motor based, 3-level inverter is presented. 3-level inversion is achieved with dual 2-level inverters feeding an open-end winding induction motor drive. The proposed PWM signal generation does not use any sector identification. It does not use look- up tables for generating the switching vectors for the two inverters. The individual inverters are directly driven by the switching vectors without using any translation circuitry. The drive is implemented and tested with a 2HP open-end winding induction motor drive and the experimental results are presented.
