Analysis and Design on Standard System of Electronic Health Records

The electronic health record (EHR) is an electronic history record produced directly in personal health-related activity and worth keeping for future reference to health management and clinical decision-making. We aimed to study and establish EHR standard system that has tremendous potential value to avoid the confusion of management mode, low-level repetitive construction and the ldquoinformation islandrdquo phenomenon. According to the processes and characteristics of health care system, we described the current status and trend of standard system of EHR based on the basic theory of standard and standardization, and designed a three-dimensional structural model taking health field as object, digital technology as subject and standard level as grade, and discussed the methods to construct standard system frame of EHR in China. EHR standardization theory domain was defined according to standard law in China. EHR standard system was designed as to be strong adaptable and wide applicative framework. The standard system of EHR will become a scientific organic whole required by the health management.
