Abstract :
The numerical model was constructed of the plane wave diffraction by a circular cylinder of infinite length based on the classic solution in form of Bessel functions expansion. The spatial field distribution was constructed for the four characteristic frequencies in the case of the E-polarization of incident radio wave. The lower couple of them corresponds to the first maximum and minimum in the complete field observed at the backside of cylinder. Two higher frequencies are related to the field maximum and minimum at the same point at frequency about 100 GHz. Spatial distribution of the full field amplitude was compared for the cases of metallic, dielectric, and meta-material cylinders. Physical interpretation of effects is given.
