Abstract
A receiver-stimulator integrated circuit for a multiple-channel hearing prosthesis has been full custom designed and fabricated, using a single-metal, single-poly, CMOS process with 3- mu m minimum features. It is intended for patients with sensorineural deaf people in China. This IC mainly contains a data receiver, a control signal generator, a programmable current source and 22 output switching circuits. Stimulus control data and power are transmitted to the IC through a transcutaneous inductive link. Two stimulation modes and 256 levels of stimulus current are realized. The chip area is 3.52mm by 3.55mm.
