Abstract
The correlation between charge injection in polymeric dielectrics and their CED (cohesive energy density) is discussed. As an example, it is shown that the electroluminescence of various polymers also varies with their CED. Specifically, it is shown that the electric breakdown strength, the activation energy for conduction, the charge injection level, and the electroluminescence of various polymers vary with their CED, i.e. with their chemical and molecular structure. The practical significance of these observations is briefly discussed
