  • Abstract
    Presents a fully integrated magnetic droplet platform capable of performing all steps from sample preparation to target analysis for multiplexed genetic biomarker detection with a single device. On this platform, surface energy traps (SETs) are implemented to enable complex liquid handling including droplet moving, merging, immobilization, dispensing, metering and aliquoting, which greatly enhances the functionality of a microfluidic droplet chip to carry out steps for cell lysis, solid phase DNA extraction, DNA aliquoting, DNA-PCR primer mixing, and emulsion PCRs in droplets.
