  • Abstract
UDT is an application level, end-to-end, unicast, reliable, connection-oriented streaming data transfer protocol. The UDT protocol is completely at user space above UDP. For it bases on the implementation of UDP, so its real-time characteristic performs very well. In the user space, by designing a new congestion control algorithm, also a new mechanism dealing with the packet loss, UDT has enhanced its reliability in the real-time data transmission application. We all know that the microseism data contain a lot of important information, for example, the arriving time of P wave and S wave, magnitude and the location of epicenter etc. So the realtime performance and reliability has become the important target in designing the microseism data transmission system. In this paper, we take the UDT into the application of microseism data transmission system, for the first time, to make a real-time and reliable data transmission. By evaluating UDT´s performance in both simulation environments and real networks, we have examined UDT´s performance include reliability, real-time, throughput and also the implementation efficiency.
