Abstract
In this paper, a new scheme of low-distorting single-phase diode-bridge rectifier with capacitive smoothing of the output voltage is proposed, analyzed, and verified. The harmonic distortion reduction technique proposed is based on optimum conversion of all ripple-power components. To verify the feasibility and usefulness of the proposed rectifier circuit, it was tested by computer simulation. In addition, a corresponding laboratory rectifier of 0.5 kW was built and tested. In the proposed rectifier, low values of the total harmonic distortion hold in wide range of the load variation
