Abstract :
This paper describes preliminary research on Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM) control system in the project TMSR nuclear energy system. In the control scheme which was dedicated to improve system reliability and safety, fully-digitized design and application of redundant CPU were optimal choices. CRDM control system was composed of Siemens PLC modules, stepper motor and its driver, touch panel and remote control terminal. System functions were decided by control module FM353 and the control object. Long-term experiments have proved that the programs in CPUs performed well and the HMI design was easy to operate. Reliability analysis indicates one applicable method to use in reliability engineering in our project and also shows the reliability characteristic of the control system.
