Abstract :
Symbol timing recovery in communication systems using continuous phase modulation (CPM) is investigated. The algorithm is based on maximum likelihood methods and uses a sequence of known symbols to aid in estimating the symbol timing. Performance of the algorithm for different sets of parameters is assessed using computer simulations
