Abstract :
In the terrestrial surface where the fluvial process is the most important external force, the water flows from high position to low make concave and convex on the surface, which form clear watershed and channel, thereby constituting different grade basin system, so altitude, slope, aspect are important terrain factors that affect the development of basin system. Based on the data collection of 1:10000 Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Huangshui River Basin is taken as the study area and a use is made of GIS technology and the image process system methods to distill Huangshui River Basin´s physiognomy morphological character elements such as elevation, slope and aspect. As a result, the integrated understanding on Huangshui River Basin´s physiognomy morphological character of location and quantity is obtained. Moreover, relationship between basin area and basin grade is obtained by using tools for hydrological analysis. It provides a new spatial information foundation platform for studying water resources, water environment, agricultural programs, soil erosion, geological disasters and so on in this research area.
