Abstract :
Investigations were undertaken to focus on partial discharge (PD) and breakdown (BD) characteristics in SF6/N2 gas mixtures under inhomogeneous electric field by the effect of an extremely small amount (1%-5×10-4% (5 ppm)) of SF6 gas content. Experimental results and discussions are summarized in this paper in that the insulation characteristics of SF6/N 2 gas mixtures at SF6 content k⩾0.1% correspond to those of pure SF6 gas, while at k⩽2×10-3% (20 ppm), to those of pure N2 gas, respectively,
