Abstract
With UMTS network being rolled out, there exist more and more applications, content providers and value-added services providers in the mobile market. And then value chain will be more complex, which requires reconsideration of business models and partnerships. In this paper, we provided detailed analyses about the movement of mobile market from 2G to 3G and proposed a compatible and flexible business model to upcoming 3G market for the network operators. The key idea is to introduce an entity (trusted third party), which is capable of handling efficiently subscription management, as well as charging, billing and accounting for value added services.
