Abstract :
The powder type electroluminescent device (P-ELD) was composed of the ITO transparent conductive layer, phosphor layer, insulator layer, and Al electrode. The phosphor layer was made by printing the paste of ZnS system phosphor powder and the cyanoethylpullan as a binder. In order to evaluate the luminant properties of ZnS P-ELD, the applied voltage-luminance (V-I) as a function of frequency, and current-voltage (I-V) were measured and discussed. Luminance in V-L experimental results was increased with a rise of the applied voltage and frequency. It can be explained in terms of the potential barrier formed between ZnS and p-Cu2S. It is observed that the current also increased with increasing the the voltage and the frequency
