Abstract :
In this article, we present our work on vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube arrays for field emission cathodes and photocathodes. Carbon nanotubes cathodes deliver current densities up to 0.5A/cm2. To optically modulate the emission, silicon photodiodes have been integrated under the carbon nanotubes, allowing a laser-controlled emission. An ON/OFF ratio up to 23 has been achieved.
