Abstract :
EMG was measured (both online and remote) on a seven-channel FM data recording system (TEAC) with preamplified active surface electrodes and an additional portable amplification unit. In segmental sports movements, the EMG was simultaneously and continuously combined with force registrations: in swimming by using an active drag measuring system, and in cycling through miniature force platforms on the pedals. Differences and similarities between normalized linear envelopes for free swimming against a resistance and for road racing versus 20% uphill racing were analyzed using three pattern-form criteria (IDentical, ANalogue and COnform), combined in the IDANCO EMG quality-comparison system, in order to determine the concept of specific muscular activity
