Abstract
Following the perspective of entrepreneur cognition, the paper combines the research of entrepreneurship and management cognition, aims to the deep understanding of the structure and process of entrepreneur cognition; the development of cognition through the decision and learning processes in the firm´s entrepreneurial stage. In the paper, eight propositions from which specific hypotheses can be developed to test the influence in cognition in the venture creation, the relationship between cognition, decision making and learning in the two periods of the entrepreneurial stage. The paper has a potentially important impact in analyzing the relationship between cognition and new venture creation. It also explains the cognitive development among entrepreneurs through the learning processes in the entrepreneurial stage.
