Abstract
The shortage of guidance of perfect mental models is one important reason of failure of business process reengineering (BPR) in enterprises. First of all, the importance of mental model to BPR is discussed based on exploring about both BPR reasons and influencing factors and the framework model of the relationship between mental model and BPR is constructed. Then the defect of mental model in the enterprises which need BPR is analyzed. Finally, some methods of improving the mental models are proposed in order to increase the success rate of BPR from the viewpoint of optimizing mental models of enterprises.
