Abstract :
Some of the semiconductor integrated optical devices for WDM systems and networks developed by NTT are reviewed. Semiconductor monolithic integration discriminator technology reduces the number of the devices. The author discusses arrayed waveguide gratings and their application to optical frequency discriminators.
