Abstract :
Short interval measurement of space charge formation in acetophenone coated low-density polyethylene (LDPE) under DC high voltage stress is carried out using an improved pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) method. This system make it possible to measure the space charge formation within the interval of less than one second. Using this system, a dynamic space charge formation in acetophenone coated LDPE was observed within the interval of 1 sec during the DC voltage application and its polarity reversal. From the experimental results, it is found that a charge packet appears near the anode within a few seconds, and moves toward the cathode
