Abstract
The work reported in this paper deals with certain aspects of partial discharges occurring in composite dielectric capacitors. The influence of the presence of partial discharges on the service life of power capacitors made of impregnated paper and polypropylene films has been investigated. The methodology employed to examine the relationship between partial discharge magnitude and failure time of capacitors is discussed
