Abstract :
Swing arm of packaging equipment is one of the key parts for ensuring the packaging precision. To improve rigidity of swing arm, structural optimization of swing arm basing on HyperWorks is complemented. The model of swing arm before structural optimization is analyzed. The analysis result show that rigidity of swing arm can not satisfied the requirement for packaging equipment. Design domain is defined based on function of swing arm. Constraints and loads are applied by analyzing condition of swing arm. Structural optimization of swing arm is conducted by using Optistruct module of HyperWorks. And then, the optimal model with manufacturability of swing arm is obtained by treating result of structural optimization based on engineering experience. Finally, the optimal model with manufacturability of swing arm is analyzed. Rigidity of swing arm after optimization is batter than before, and weight is lightened.
