  • Abstract
    Wo consider the Helmholtz equation describing the propagation of acoustic and electromagnetic waves in a nonhomogeneous media slowly varying in the horizontal direction. The contribution in the asymptotics of discrete and continuous spectrums of the transversal Sturm-Liouville´s problem is studied. A uniform asymptotics of the Green function in neighborhoods of thresholds has been obtained
